Soprano Mary Bevan is among the most versatile figures on the British operatic scene, with a repertory stretching from Monteverdi to contemporary premieres. She has a bent toward comic opera and has appeared several times in operettas by Gilbert & Sullivan. Bevan's substantial recording catalog includes a series of albums devoted to Vaughan Williams' folk song settings. In 2025, she appeared on an album featuring orchestral arrangements of Schubert songs with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
